Filmmaker, writer and visual effects artist Michael Chaves first rose to prominence when he created, wrote and directed the comedy miniseries Chase Champion (2015). In 2019, he made his feature film directorial debut with the supernatural horror thriller The Curse of the Weeping Woman, which starred Linda Cardellini, Raymond Cruz and Patricia Velasquez in pivotal roles. Besides this, Chaves also directed the 8th installment in The Conjuring franchise, titled The Conjuring 3 (2020).
