Michaela Talwar is a film maker, journalist and co-founder of Harkat Studios, a film production company & alternative theatre and arts space based in Mumbai and Berlin. Her career is an amalgamation of academic and artistic experiences.
With a B.A. in media management and a M.Sc. in global media studies from universities in 3 countries (BiTS Iserlohn, ESCE Paris, Stockholm University) she has explored culture and identity in films and books (Empowerment through audiovisual storytelling in India Lambert, 2015). Prior to her life in India, she worked as international correspondent for ZDF in Brussels and concept developer and strategist for public and private TV channels.
She has directed and produced documentaries, art films and a variety of original and marketing content for companies like Netflix, Fox Star Studios and Disney as part of her work at Harkat.
Being a polyglot traveller, she feels the need to share stories on the unintentional alikeness of the human condition across cultures in her art.
