Jan Mikael Hafstrom is a Swedish filmmaker and screenwriter. He is widely recognized for making the 2003 film Evil, which earned a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. Primarily a horror film director, he directed 1408 (2007) which is based on a Stephen King novel and the Anthony Hopkins starrer The Rite (2011). He has worked with popular Hollywood actors including John Cusack, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone. His 2019 releases include The Perfect Patient, also known as Quick.
