Mike Leigh is a veteran English film writer and director. Graduating from the London school of Film Technique, Mike made his debut as both director and writer with the film Bleak Moments (1971). He went on to direct a few television shows like Play for Today and Five Minute films. A few of his other notable works include High Hopes (1988), Life is Sweet (1990) and the critically acclaimed Secrets & Lies (1996). The film earned Mike his first BAFTA award, propelling his career forward. He has also directed critically acclaimed films like Topsy-Turvy (1999), All or Nothing (2002), Very Drake (2004) and Another Year (2010). In his long and illustrious career, Mike has won four BAFTA awards and has been nominated for the Academy awards seven times. He now has the film Mr. Turner lined up which is slated to release in Febuary 2015.
