Indian director Milan Bhowmik, is best known for his work in the Bengali film industry and has been associated with films like Shesh Bidaayi (1992), Matribhumi (1997), Satyameba Jayate (2008), Nirbhoya (2012). His film 1946, Calcutta Killings (2018) was earlier supposed to be called Danga The Riot and is based on the Kolkata Riots of 1946.
