Born in Havana, Cuba, Millard Mitchell was an American stage, film and radio actor who made his acting debut with the 1931 movie, Secrets of a Secretary. He played a policeman in the movie and was uncredited. Mitchell's first Hollywood role came in the 1942 movie, Mr. and Mrs. North. He acted in movies like She's My Lovely (1942), Swell Guy (1946), A Double Life (1947), A Foreign Affair (1948), Thieves' Highway (1949), Everybody Does It (1949), Twelve O'Clock High (1949), The Gunfighter (1950), Winchester '73 (1950), Mister 880 (1950), The Naked Spur (1953) and Here Come the Girls (1953). Mitchell also starred in the hit comedy-musical, Singin' in the Rain (1952). He played the role of the fictional movie moghul R. F. Simpson. Mitchell passed away on October 13, 1953, due to lung cancer.
