One of India`s youngest and leading bass guitarists, Mohini Dey is considered as a prodigy by many musicians. She was introduced to music at the age of three by her father, bass player Sujoy Dey. Mohini has collaborated with music maestro A.R. Rahman several times for shows and movie recordings. She started off with music composer and drummer Ranjit Barot, who featured her in his album Bada Boom, and later also made her play with his band for MTV Unplugged. This young bassist has been a part of two seasons of Coke Studio. She has worked with several artists like Zakir Hussain, Narada Michael Walden, Hariharan, Prasanna, Mike Stern, George Brooks, Sivamani, and Salim-Sulaiman. Her 2017 venture includes One Heart: The A.R. Rahman Concert Film (2017), a movie about A.R. Rahman`s concert tour across 14 cities in North America.
