Mysore Ananthaswamy (19361995) was a legendary Indian composer, singer, and a pioneering figure in Kannada Sugama Sangeetha (light music). Renowned for his enchanting and soulful voice, he popularized the works of eminent Kannada poets like Kuvempu, K.S. Narasimhaswamy, and Bendre by setting them to accessible, emotive melodies.
A prolific composer, he created the deeply rooted original musical score for Prabhath Kalavidarus iconic 1978 dance-drama, Cinderella. His timeless compositions and extraordinary musical legacy continue to be celebrated as monumental contributions to Karnataka's cultural and performing arts heritage.
