Nadira Babbar, born as Nadira Zaheer, is a renowned film actress and writer. She was married to the famous Raj Babbar. Nadira graduated from the National School of Drama (NSD), New Delhi in 1971. She was a Gold Medallist at NSD and went to Germany on a scholarship. She later got a chance to work with renowned directors like Grotovisky and Peter Brooks. She started her theater group, Ekjute (Together) in 1981 in Delhi. Over the last 30 years Ekjute has given Indian theatre over sixty plays. In the film industry, she is known for her work in Bride and Prejudice (2004), Jai Ho (2014) and Meenaxi: Tale of 3 Cities (2004). Her next releases includes Ghayal Once Again and Khandaani Shafakhana.
