With more than 25 years of experience in the video game industry, Narayanan Vaidyanathan is a software developer and engineer who started his career at Capcom USA, where he worked for seven years before working with gaming giant Electronic Arts as a technical director and lead engineer. As a child, Narayanan was inspired by the stories that he heard from his grandmother and ever since wanted to be a part of the video game industry to be able to recreate those stories and characters. In 2010, he established Gamaya Inc. where he created a universe of diverse characters based on the Ramayana and penned stories about many of these characters. One of these stories was that of Mahiravana, which was later made into an animated movie titled Hanuman vs Mahiravana, of which Narayanan wrote the story and screenplay, and also managed the production, along with designing the sound effects.
