Nayana J Sooda is a theatre artist, director, costume designer and stage designer who has been working in Kannada theatre field for more than two decades now. She is immensely proud to have choosen only theatre and not any other field as her profession. Her roots goes back to Dakshina kannada's Udupi region Karkala district Hebri village. Born in Shimoga town she along with her family shifted to Bengaluru's K R Puram at the age of 4. She completed her schooling from B Narayanpura Government School. Further she completed her PU from Government Pu college K R Puram. Moving on she completed her graduation from Basvangudi National College. Currently pursuing MA in Kannada. She started her theatre journey at the age of 7, has never looked back till now. She has performed in various stages such as Mumbai, Kanpur, Delhi and various other places. Travelling around the country through theatre she had been recepient of various National and State recognised awards. Being started her journey into the world of theatre under the guidance of C Lakshman sir with a play named ''Karunika Shishu'' and successful given more than 200 shows. In the process she has played various other roles in plays like Kuvempu's Nana Gopala, Modannana Thamma, Bommana Halli kindari jogi to recent day's social plays such as Gulabi Gang, Poolan Devi, Bhoomi, Gargi and so on. Her theatre journey is immense and will continue forever.
