About
Beloved by one and all for her charming screen presence and prodigious talent, actress Nazriya Nazim is known primarily for her work in Malayalam and Tamil cinema. Within the span of a few years and just over a dozen movies, she has managed to establish herself as one of the most popular actresses in South Indian cinema, besides winning prestigious accolades like the Filmfare Award and the Kerala State Film Award.

Nazriya started out as a television anchor at the age of 10, and subsequently made her feature film debut as a child artist in the Mammootty starrer Palunku (2006). Following appearances in Pramani (2010) and the Mohanlal starrer Oru Naal Varum (2010), she debuted as a leading lady with Maad Daad (2013), which failed to impress the critics and the audience alike. Subsequently, Nazriya starred alongside Nivin Pauly in the bilingual black comedy-thriller Neram (2013), which marked a major turning point in her career. The film, which was shot simultaneously in Tamil and Malayalam, was a critical and commercial success, and earned Nazriya the Filmfare Award (South) for Best Female Debut that year. In the same year, she appeared in the romantic comedy Raja Rani (2013), which starred Arya and Nayanthara in the lead roles and recounted the story of an estranged couple who eventually find out that they have more in common than differences. The movie was a box office hit, and Nazriya almost stole the show in her endearing supporting act, which earned her yet another Filmfare Award nomination.

Of the five films Nazriya starred in 2014, the romantic comedy Ohm Shanthi Oshaana and the coming-of-age romantic drama Bangalore Days opened to high critical acclaim and set the cash registers ringing at the box office, with the latter going on to become one of the highest grossing Malayalam films of all time. Among the many factors that contributed to the enormous success of these films were Nazriya`s stellar performances as the free-spirited medical student Pooja in Ohm Shanthi Oshaana and the guileless Divya in Bangalore Days, for which she also won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actress that year. The romantic comedy Salalah Mobiles (2014) and the bilingual Samsaaram Aarogyathinu Haanikaram aka Vaayai Moodi Pesavum (2014) were some of the actress` other notable movie credits from the year, where she starred alongside Dulquer Salmaan.

Following her marriage to actor Fahadh Faasil, Nazriya took a four-year break from acting, which ended when she reunited with her Bangalore Days director Anjali Menon for Koode (2018). Touted as a family drama, the movie featured Prithviraj Sukumaran and Parvathy in pivotal roles alongside Nazriya. Her other releases includes Varathan , Trance and C U Soon.
