About
Bengali music composer Neel Dutt became a professional guitarist at the age of 13 and started touring extensively with his father, Anjan Dutt, a Bengali actor, writer, and musician. By the age of 15, he had already released a Gold Disc with HMV titled `Shuntey ki Chao`. He went on to pursue a career in composing and worked on his first movie titled Bow Barracks Forever in 2004 while completing his post-graduation course. Due to a four-year-long delay in the movie`s release, The Bong Connection, which released in 2006, marked his debut in the film industry. Both movies were directed by his father. Following his debut, he worked on the music of various movies such as Chalo Let`s Go (2008), Chowrasta Crossroads of Love (2009), Madly Bangali (2009), Byomkesh Bakshi (2010), Abar Byomkesh (2012), Dutta Vs. Dutta (2012), Shunyo (2013), Byomkesh Bakshi (2015), Byomkesh O Chiriakhana (2016), The Bongs Again (2017) and Sonata (2017). Neel won the National Award for Best Music Direction in 2012 for the soundtrack of the Bengali film Ranjana Ami Ar Ashbona. In 2017 Neel composed the music for his father`s directorial venture, Byomkesh O Agniban. In 2018, he composed the songs for films like Aami Ashbo Phirey, Uma, Ahare Mon and Shonar Pahar. Neel Dutt`s 2019 release includes Satyanweshi Byomkesh.
