Writer-director Neelan Sekar is known primarily for his work in Tamil cinema. While the thriller film Ali Baba (2008) is among his notable directorial credits, Sekar has also served as a screenwriter in movies like Arinthum Ariyamalum (2005) and Naan (2012).

In 2019, he collaborated as a screenwriter alongside Mysskin, Nalan Kumarasamy and Thiagarajan Kumararaja in the thriller film Super Deluxe, which starred Vijay Sethupathi, Fahadh Faasil, Samantha Akkineni and Mysskin in pivotal roles.
