Nicholas Britell is an American music composer, producer and pianist. He made his debut as a film composer with the romantic comedy-drama New York, I Love You (2008). Since then, he has scored the music for critically acclaimed movies like 12 Years a Slave (2013), The Big Short (2015) and Moonlight (2016). For his work in Moonlight, Britell received Academy Awards and Golden Globe Awards nominations for Best Original Score. Notable film credits also include The Free State of Jones (2016), Battle of the Sexes (2017) and Ocean's Eight (2018).
