Model and fashion designer Nikki Galrani took to acting in 2014 with the coming-of-age Malayalam movie 1983 for which she won the SIIMA Award and Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. The same year, she made her Kannada film debut with the Chiranjeevi Sarja-starrer Ajith. She made her Tamil and Telugu debuts with the movies Darling (2015), for which she won the Edison Award for Best Debut Actress, and the Vasu Verma-directed Krishnashtami respectively. In 2017, Nikki signed various projects including Team 5, Motta Shiva Ketta Shiva, Neruppu Da, Maragadha Naanayam and Hara Hara Mahadevaki. Her other releases include Kee, Pakka, #O Premave, Charlie Chaplin 2 and Dhamaka.
