Mystical and legendary folk tales are put to music by the Nooran Sisters. Born into a family of musicians, Jyoti and Sultana Nooran are the granddaughters of the late Bibi Nooran, a very popular Sufi singer in the 1970s. Their father, Ustad Gulshan Meer, son of the famous late Ustad Sohan Lal, is not only their guru but often also performs with them in concerts. The sisters were spotted on the TV Show `Nikki Awaz Punjab Di` and soon they became popular.
In 2012, The Nooran Sisters featured on the song `Allah Hoo` on Coke Studio. They then sang Pataka Guddi for A.R. Rahman on for the movie Highway (2014). They then sang songs for 8 AM metro (2023).
