Early Life
Oliver James Platt is an American actor born in Ontario, Canada. He decided to take up acting after watching the renowned actor, Morgan Freeman perform a 20-min drunken monologue at the Kennedy Center in Washington. Oliver graduated from Tufts University and worked in theatre circuits for over three years. During this period he performed at prestigious venues like Off-Broadway, Lincoln Center Theatre, Manhattan Theatre Club and many more. However, he bagged his debut role when Bill Murray introduced him to director Jonathan Demme, who cast him in Married to the Mob (1988).

Career Highlights
Following his debut, Oliver was seen in movies like Working Girl (1988), Flatliners (1990), The Three Musketeers (1993) and A Time to Kill (1996). He made his television debut in Deadline, The West Wing (1999 - 2006) and Huff (2004 - 2006). Some of Oliver`s noteworthy movies are Dr. Dolittle (1998), Three to Tango (1999), Casanova (2005), 2012 (2009), Love and Other Drugs (2010) and X-Men: First Class (2011). In 2014, he appeared in the biographical crime drama movie Kill the Messenger (2014) that stars Jeremy Renner and Mary Elizabeth Winstead in pivotal roles. His 2017 release includes Professor Marston and the Wonder Women, a biographical movie based on William Marston, who created the fictional superhero Wonder Woman.
