Best known for bankrolling big-budget films, Oscar V. Ravichandran is an Indian film producer and distributor. He started his career as a film distributor and became popular for distributing Hollywood films in Tamil Nadu. As a producer, Ravichandran made his debut with Fazil`s Kadhalukku Mariyadhai (1997), which was a remake of his successful Malayalam film, Aniyathipraavu. The film went on to become a huge money-spinner and since then, there was no looking back for Ravichandran. His second outing Vaanathaippola (2000) was also a blockbuster and won the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment. Some of his other notable projects are Poovellam Un Vasam (2001), Ezhumalai (2002), Anniyan (2005), Dishyum (2006), Unnale Unnale (2007), Dasavathaaram (2008), Vaaranam Aayiram (2008), Velayudham (2011), and I (2015). His 2018 projects include bilingual film titled Vishwaroopam II in Tamil and Vishwaroop II in Hindi.
