P. Bhaskaran, was a poet, lyricist, actor and filmmaker of Malayalam cinema. As director, he has made Iruttinde Athmavu, Tharavatamma, Laila Majnu, Nair Pidicha Pulival, Enikku Visakkunu, Vilakkum Velichavum and received National Film Awards for Best Feature Film in Malayalam for Neelakuyi. He has also tried his hand with acting in Ezhamkadalinakkare, Neelakkuyil etc. He has written about 3000 songs in his career and won three Kerala State Film Awards for best lyricist. He was awarded Kerala State Film Award for Lifetime Achievement in 1994 and died in 2007.
