A student of Madras Film Institute he has worked as a cinematographer in more than 30 films across Tamil, Malayalam, Hindi, Telugu and Kannada films. Apart from working as a cinematographer, he has also directed several films and TV commercials and along the way has picked several prestigious awards including National Film Award for Best Cinematography, Vijay Award for Best Cinematographer, and CineMAA Award for Life Time Contribution. Sreeram`s most notable films as a cinematographer includes Mouna Ragam (1986), Thevar Magan (1992), Alaipayuthey (2000), Paa (2009), I (2015), Ki and Ka (2016) and Remo (2016). His 2018 releases include Pad Man, Super Deluxe, Naa Nuvve and Praana. His other releases include Psycho (2020), Putham Pudhu Kaalai (2020) and Rang De (2021).
