Padamshree Ustad Puranchand Wadali is one half of the renowned Sufi group Wadali Brothers. His first musical performance outside the village was in Harballabh Temple in Jalandhar. In 2003, he, along with his brother, entered Bollywood, rendering music director and writer Gulzar's soulful lyrics in a unique style for the film Pinjar.
