Pankaj Awasthi is an Indian music composer, lyricist and playback singer who primarily works in Bollywood cinema. Having started his career as a lyricist and playback singer with Karam (2005), he made his debut as a background composer with Anwar in 2007. Post-2007, Pankaj mainly worked as a playback singer and some of his notable film credits as a singer include New York (2009), and Lahore (2010) before eventually making his comeback as a composer with Sameer (2017), a Hindi drama thriller directed by Dakxin Bajrange Chhara. Apart from feature films, Pankaj Awasthi has also composed music for several short films and documentaries including Waif (2008), and Six Strands (2011).
