A New York Film Academy alumnus, Pannaga Bharana is the son of renowned filmmaker Nagabharana. In 2017, he made his directorial debut with the Kannada language, romantic drama film Happy New Year, which stars Vijay Raghavendra, Dhananjay, Sruthi Hariharan, and Sonu Gowda in important roles. His 2020 release includes French Biryani.
