Paul Dooley is an American comedian, actor, and writer who is best known for his role in Peter Yates’ coming of age comedy-drama Breaking Away (1979). He even won the National Board of Review Award for his performance in the movie. Dooley initially found work as a clown for children’s birthday parties and gradually found success in Broadway before venturing into the TV and film industry. Some of his notable roles have come with the movies Raggedy Ann and Andy: A Musical Adventure (1977), A Wedding (1978), and Sixteen Candles (1984). Dooley has also co-written the script of the 1980 ensemble comedy film, Health. In 2006, he voiced the character of Sarge in the movie Cars and has reprised his voice-act in the sequels as well: Cars 2 (2011) and Cars 3 (2017).
