Paul Potts is a Welsh singer. In 2007, he won the first series of Britain's Got Talent. Potts developed his love of singing during his school days. He also sang with the choir at several Bristol churches. One thing led to another and soon started singing opera in minor roles for acts such as The Prince of Persia (1999), Marriage of Figaro (2000) and Verdi's Aida (2003). He also started touring around Europe as a solo musician. He also gave his voice for the Korean Drama Queen Seondeok. His claim to fame was Britain's Got Talent (2007). His maiden audition itself was a superhit. He received a standing ovation from the present audience of 2,000 people and the video clip of that show has garnered over 120 million views making it one of the top 100 most watched YouTube videos. He ended up winning the competition with majority votes and since then, there has been no looking back for the young singer. He cut his debut album One Chance which sold more than 2 million copies worldwide. Potts has also had the honour of performing at the Royal Variety Performance in front of Queen Elizabeth II. Over time, Paul has delivered a string of memorable performances across 23 countries.
