American playwright, actor, and screenwriter Peter Ackerman is well known as the co-writer of the animated movie Ice Age for 20th Century Fox. Ackerman began his career as an actor in the film Astronomy of Errors (2000). He later went on to perform in the off-Broadway in the Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) and in Visiting Mr. Green.

After acting in a few movies, Ackerman was hired as a writer for 20th Century Fox. Later he co-wrote the third Ice Age movie, Dawn of the Dinosaurs, which was released in 2009. Peter Ackerman was also a writer and producer on the TV series, The Americans on FX channel. He has also contributed to much other television series and his art of writing scripts got him even more popular. His recent project includes the film Angry Birds Movie 2.
