Early life:
Peter Bogdanovich is an American writer, director, actor, producer, critic and film historian. Bogdanovich was born in Kingston, New York. He was an actor inn 1950s. He appeared on television and summer stock. He was a film programmer at Museum of Modern Art in New York City. Bogdanovich was influenced by french critics of the 1950s. Before turning a director, he built his reputation as a film writer with articles in Esquire. These articles were collected in Pieces of Time (1973).
Career Highights:
Bogdanovich directed several movies like Voyage to the Planet of Prehistoric Women (1968), Targets (1968). The film The Last Picture Show (1971) raised him to fame. He earned tremendous appreciation and was nominated for several awards. He made other films like Whats Up, Doc (1972), Paper Moon (1973), Daisy Miller (1974), Mask (1985), The Thing They Call Love (1993), A Saintly Switch(1999). He recently made a documentary Runnin Down A Dream (2007). His next directorial venture Shes Funny That Way is set to release in September 2015.
