Ponnambalam is an Indian film actor, appeared in Tamil films in predominantly supporting roles, he was a sportsman who was active in gymnastics and other sporting activities and became a national high-jump champion in 1984. He made his acting debut in the year 1988 and later became politician by joining All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam.
