Pooja Rao is a professional singer. She is currently a 'B high' grade artist with AIR for the Devotional and light music segments. She has experience in singing for Playback, Theatre, Choir and Solo. She has performed with some of the world renowned Indian Artists.

Her tryst with theatre began with Padmashree Smt B Jayashree Amma , with the play ''Sadaarame'', followed by roles in the play ''Narahari'' , after which she continued to explore the fusion of music and performance. Her recent collaborations have been with Director Surabhi Vasisht for the play ''Sandhaana'', Vyoma's satirical play ''Whose Apple is it Anyway?'' Directed By Sharath K Parvathavani and yet again with Padmashree Smt B Jayashree, as a lead in the play Neevu Kanire, a play on the life of the great Saint and poet Akkamahadevi.
She also continues to explore herself in films and contributes to the world of art as a singer and an actor.
