A research scientist by profession Prabhu Mundkur quit his job to pursue his passion for acting, making his debut in 2017 with the Kannada thriller crime-drama Urvi, where he was cast alongside the likes of Shweta Pandit, Sruthi Hariharan, Shraddha Srinath, and Achyuth Kumar. Next, the actor was seen in the 2018 horror titled Manjari, which featured Roopika in the lead role opposite him.

Among his other projects for 2018 is Mysore Diaries, which also stars Pavana and also marks the directorial debut of Dhananjay Ranjan, who is best known for writing the screenplay of the popular 2016 movie Kirik Party. His other project includes D/O Parvathamma. His 2019 release includes Relax Satya.
