After having starting his career as an associate director with Prabhu Solomon, Prakash Chandra went on to make his acting debut in 2010 with the Tamil drama Goripalayam, where he was seen playing the role of a spoilt brat. Next, he played the role of Lakshamanan in the multi-starrer Muthukku Muthaaga.

After a break of almost six years, Prakash made a comeback and was cast alongside Sunu Lakshmi in the R. Subramanian-directed drama Saavi in 2018, which also marks the actor's debut as a producer.
