Priyanka Sharma is widely regarded as one of the finest contemporary actors in Hindi theatre. Her performances have been noted for their classical commitment to the speech, unmistakable awareness of the stage and a deceptive immersion punctuated by breath, movement, and swift improvisations. In a career spanning over two decades, hundred plays and five hundred shows, she has performed a wide range of iconic female characters. She has worked with some of the most distinguished directors in the country and have performed at all the major theatre festivals.
Recently recognized by the India Today magazine as one of the 100 Most Influential Youth in the country, she is a recipient of the Vagdhara Samman and Nari Shakti Samman. She is the Founder of the Delhi-based Silly Souls Foundation and directs its annual garden theatre festival ''Tafreeh''. Silly Souls works extensively in theatre education, conducts workshops with schools, colleges, government departments, academies and private organisations. In the last few years, she has acted, directed, and produced audio plays, taking some of the great classics like Umroa Jaan, Jis Lahore ni Vekhya, Dhruvswamini and Buniyaad to a new medium.
