Having completed his studies from Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Chennai, R S Prasanna is an Indian film director who made his debut in 2013 with the rather unconventional movie Kalyana Samayal Saadham. Featuring the story of a man suffering from erectile dysfunction, Kalyana Samayal Saadham went on to receive massive acclaim and was well-received so much so that various Bollywood producers approached him with the idea of adapting the movie. In the meantime, he visited his school Chinmaya Vidyalaya after fourteen years and was in for surprise when he was asked to direct a biopic on Swami Chinmayananda Saraswati, the teacher who inspired the formation of Chinmaya Mission. Titled On a Quest, the movie released on Swami Chinmayananda Saraswatiss 100th birth anniversary in 2015. Two years after this, he directed the romantic comedy Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, which is inspired by his debut movie, however, it is not a remake.
