One of the most successful lyricists of Malayalam cinema, Rafeeq Ahammed is also a renowned poet. A graduate of the Shree Krishna College, Kerala, Rafeeq has published several poetic works including Almara for which he won the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award in 2006. He began his career in 1999 with movie Garshom and has worked in more than 100 Malayalam films. Some of his best work has come with the movies Pranayakalam (2007), Sufi Paranja Katha (2009), Sadgamaya (2010), Spirit (2012), and Ennu Ninte Moideen (2015) - for all these films he won the Kerala State Film Award for Best Lyricist. His other releases includes the movie Hadiyya, Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum, Ente Mezhuthiri Athazhangal and Mamangam.
