Born in 1974, Raghu Dixit is a self-taught guitarist, singer, songwriter and film score producer. This microbiologist-turned-scientist and a master-level Bharatnatyam dancer gave up on all things stable and chose to follow his passion for music. His band Antaragni is synonymous with Indie music and his most recent project, The Raghu Dixit Project is a multilingual folk band. His music is rooted in traditional Indian culture with a contemporary global presentation. Raghu has worked on films like Psycho (2008), Quick Gun Murugan (2009), Mujhse Fraaandship Karoge (2011) and Bewakoofiyaan (2014). He has also been a part of the Dewarists, a TV show that casts musicians from various parts of the world, collaborating to create original music while traveling across India.
Raghu is one of the few Indian artists who has played for the Queen of England and the entire Royal family. He was awarded the Best Newcomer Award at the 2011 Songlines Music Awards, the Favorite Singer Award at the 2008 SFM Kalaa Awards and the Best Live Performer Award at the GIMA Music Awards in 2014. His 2017 release includes the Kannada language, romantic drama film Happy New Year. Directed by Pannaga Bharana, the movie stars Vijay Raghavendra, Dhananjay, Sruthi Hariharan, and Sonu Gowda in important roles. His 2018 releases include Koode, W/O Ram and Sankashta Kara Ganapathi.
