Having studied at the NYFA, movies was the obvious choice of career for Raj Khatri, who started his career with Vashu Bhagnani's production house - Puja Films. He was credited as the associate director in the 2009 movie Kal Kisne Dekha.

He also went on to work with YRF after which he established his own production house Vrindh Films and Entertainment. Turning producer, Raj's first venture came with the 2018 crime comedy-drama Phamous, starring Jackie Shroff, Jimmy Shergill, Kay Kay Menon, Shriya Saran, and Mahie Gill.
