Rajat Sharma is the Chairperson and Editor-in-Chief of IndiaTV. Amongst his many accomplishments, Rajat Sharma is the recipient of Padma Bhushan, one of Indias highest Civilian Awards, for his contributions to the field of Journalism.
He is the host and brainchild behind the highly popular show Aap Ki Adalat, where Mr. Sharma interviews eminent personalities and dignitaries wherein the interviewee plays the role of a witness while Mr. Sharma acts as a Lawyer, asking tough and to-the-point questions. He has interviewed over 750 guests over the 21 years that show has been broadcast, making it the longest-running show in the history of Indian Television.
Mr. Sharma was born in the locality of Sabzi Mandi of Delhi and has 6 Brothers and 1 Sister. He completed his Schooling from Ramjos School, Karolbagh and is a graduate of Sri Ram College of Commerce.
After having completed his M.Com, he was hired by reputed journalist Janardhan Thakur. Subsequently, he joined the Onlooker Magazine as a trainee and rose through the ranks to the position of Editor. He also served as Editor of the Sunday Observer and The Daily.
It was in 1992 where he bumped into Mr. Subhash Chandra on a flight to Delhi where they came up with the idea for Aap Ki Adalat during a casual conversation and since then, there has been no looking back for him.
