Former director of the popular sketch comedy and celebrity talk show Comedy Nights With Kapil, Rajiv Dhingra is an Indian director and writer. Not only did he directed the first 30 episodes of the sketch comedy show, he was also the creative director of The Kapil Sharma Show, which aired on Sony TV. He then directed the 2016 Punjabi family drama Love Punjab, featuring Amrinder Gill, Sargun Mehta and Manvir Johal in lead roles. The movie not only was a critically acclaimed but was also a commercial success, beating the box office collections of the Bollywood movies Airlift and Bajirao Mastani in the international markets.

Following the success of Love Punjab, Rajiv cast his long-time associate and childhood friend Kapil Sharma in his maiden Bollywood project Firangi, which is set during the British Raj in India and features Ishita Dutta and Monica Gill in pivotal roles.
