Hailing from UP, Rajpal Yadav is an Indian film and theatre actor, best-known for his impressive comic timing. He is known for acting in popular Bollywood films such as Kal Ho Naa Ho (2003), Jungle (2000) and Bhoothnath(2008).
Since an early age, he was associated with Bhartendu Natya Academy and Shahjahanpur theatre where he played roles in various plays. In 1994, he joined the National School of Drama, Delhi after which he came to Mumbai to try his luck in the film industry. Rajpal started his acting career with Doordarshan`s television serial Mungeri Ke Bhai Naurangilal as the main protagonist. The actor, then, made his film debut in the 1999 film Shool, where he played the role of a coolie. Following his debut, Ram Gopal Verma asked him to play a challenging negative role in the action thriller Jungle (2000). His solid performance in the film won him critical acclaim and a Screen Award (Best Negative Role).
Rajpal went on to essay comic roles in successful films such as Mujhse Shaadi Karogi (2004), Garam Masala (2005), Phir Hera Pheri (2006), Bhootnath (2008) and Khatta Meetha (2010), just to name a few. He also has played lead roles in films like Main Madhuri Dixit Banna Chahti Hoon (2003) and Main Meri Patni Aur Woh (2005).
Meanwhile, he debuted as a film director and producer with the comedy flick Ata Pata Laapata (2012). He was next seen in the musical comedy Balwinder Singh... Famous Ho Gaya (2014). Dolly Ki Doli (2015). In 2015, he starred in movies such as Thoda Lutf Thoda Ishq (2015), Kick 2 (2015), and Baankey Ki Crazy Baraat (2015). His 2017 release includes the movies Kutumb the Family, Judwaa 2, and Fukrey 2. His 2018 releases include Shaadi Teri Bajayenge Hum Band and Love Training.
