A Charted Accountant by profession, Rakesh has been a successful entrepreneur and has been involved in many businesses including garments, real estate development, restaurants, travel agencies, corporate insurance firms for 36 years. Apart from business, Batra has also been working in the theatre industry. A former economics teacher at the Cathedral and John Connon School, Batra wrote and directed the kids' musical play Angelina, which toured around India and had 27 houseful shows between 1995 and 1996. His maiden film venture is the 2018 English drama directed by Kanika Batra.
