Donning several hats in the film industry, Rakesh Chaudhary made his debut as a cinematographer and director in 2004 with the short film, Kwik Meal. In 2011 he wrote and directed another short, The Eclipse of Taregna. The film went on to win the Jury Award for Best Short Film at the Los Angeles Indian Film Festival in 2011. In 2017 Rakesh served as a producer on Ajit R Rajpal's Punjabi movie, Hard Kaur. The women-centric drama has Deana Uppal, Drishti Grewal, Nirmal Rishi and Shashi Kiran in important roles.
