Rakshith Thirthahalli`s interest and passion for writing and cinema drove him to write a story about the encroachment of forests. His directorial debut was a Kannada feature film titled Hombanna in 2017, which won some awards at festivals. He then wrote a book on the Western Ghats and environmental changes, titled Kaadina Nentaru, which was a compilation of stories. After that, he directed a movie called Entha Kathe Maaraaya. His next directorial ventures are two Kannada feature films titled Timmana Mottegalu and Moda Male Mattu Shaila.
