Iranian-German musician and film score composer Ramin Djawadi is perhaps best known for his work in the acclaimed tv series Game of Thrones, which earned him the Primetime Emmy nomination for Outstanding Music Composition in 2014. An alumnus of the Berklee College of Music, he started out as a protege of popular composers like Hans Zimmer and Klaus Badelt, working with the latter in movies like K-19: The Widowmaker (2002), Ned Kelly (2003) and Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl (2003) before venturing independently with Blade: Trinity (2004).
Subsequently, Djawadi scored the music for the psychological thriller Mr. Brooks (2007), the blockbuster superhero film Iron Man (2008) and the action adventure fantasy Clash of the Titans (2010) before eventually getting his big break with the immensely popular fantasy drama series Game of Thrones. The sci-fi monster movie Pacific Rim (2013), The Great Wall (2016), the sci-fi fantasy adventure film A Wrinkle in Time (2018) and the supernatural horror thriller Slender Man (2018) are among the notable recent titles in the composer's discography. Besides these, he has also been associated with TV shows like Person of Interest (2011-2016), Prison Break (2005-2017) and Westworld (2016-).
