Bengali film actor Rana Mitra, in fact, made his debut with an English-language movie City of Joy in 1992, after which he took a decade-long sabbatical from the industry. Making a comeback to the big screen, Rana appeared in the Sabyasachi Chakraborty, Parambrata Chatterjee, and Bibhu Bhattacharya-starrer Bombaiyer Bombete.

Apart from movies, Rana is also a part of the television industry and was seen in the 2012 series Checkmate, playing the role of Raju Das. Mainly seen playing supporting roles, Rana went on to feature in movies such as Shada Kaalo Abchaa, Prime Time, Monchora, Jaan Baaz, Messi, and Kaya - The Mystery Unfolds.
