Legendary musician and pop culture icon Randy Newman`s celebrated career spans close to six decades, in the course of which he has proven his versatility and genius as a film score composer, singer-songwriter and pianist. Some of his best-known film credits as a composer include the drama Ragtime (1981), the comedy-drama Parenthood (1989), Awakenings (1990), the animated adventure-comedy Toy Story (1995), the comedy-drama Pleasantville (1998), Monsters, Inc. (2001) and Toy Story 3 (2010).

Newman has been nominated a staggering twenty times for an Academy Award in Best Original Score and Best Original Song categories, winning twice in the latter category for Monsters, Inc. (2001) and Toy Story 3 (2010). `Short People` from the album Little Criminals (1977), `Louisiana 1927` from Good Old Boys (1974), `Sail Away` from the eponymous 1972 album and Have You Seen My Baby from the album 12 Songs (1970) are some of the most-beloved songs created by this peerless artist. Besides the Oscars, Newman has also won multiple Primetime Emmy Awards and Grammy Awards.

More recently, Newman scored the music for acclaimed films like The Meyerowitz Stories (2017) and Toy Story 4 (2019).
