Rashi Bunny, an accomplished Indian Theatre Artist, is well known in the country as a serious and committed actor and an innovative director. She is also a transformational/leadership facilitator, art counselor, designer, healer and poet. She is the Founder of Banjara Theatres (known for its innovative, meaningful and uplifting plays since 2001) and Creative Director, Bombay Hatss (products and services to `Bring Experiences Alive` since 2014), both based in Mumbai, India.
Her theatre training in the USA and mentorship under stalwarts like E. Alkazi, Shaymanand Jalan and Ratan Thiyam in India have chiseled her into an awakened and socially responsible artist. Her world-wide travel as a Solo Performer, awards and accolades in various national and International Theatre festivals have exposed her to diverse themes and performance styles. In 2005, she was selected as the 50 Icons of India - Emerging personalities by Sahara Group and in 2013 Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi awarded her with the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar for Theatre Direction: highest award given to an artist below 40 years from Government of India in the field of Performing Arts in recognition of exceptional talent and luminosity.
During her 20 years of journey as an actor/ director and facilitator, she has traveled from Assam to Gujarat, from Amritsar to Kanyakumari in India, as well as to countries like USA, UAE, UK, Sweden, Belgium, Italy, France, Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Russia, Armenia, Bangladesh, South Korea and Canada. As a coach for workshops using the tools of Theatre, Music, Art and Meditation with people from all ages/ sects/ social strata and professional backgrounds, she has touched the lives of thousands across the world. Her Theatre workshop series for students, teachers and youth in various colleges of repute and premiere institutes like IIM and IITs are popular for their unique empowering tools using Performing arts and spiritual insights. Various organizations have witnessed an irreversible transformation and individual as well as team excellence as an impact of her workshops.
