Raashid Rangrez, born in Gangoh, Saharanpur, Uttar Pradesh, is a distinguished art director, production designer, costume designer, writer, and creative producer in Indian cinema. His journey into the creative arts began with his education at HR Inter College, where his passion for storytelling and visual arts took root. In 1989, he moved to Delhi, enrolling at the Sri Ram Centre for a diploma in acting, which he completed in 1992. During this time, Raashid immersed himself in the world of theatre, writing, acting, and directing numerous plays. In 1994 he completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi.

Thereafter, Raashid relocated to Mumbai to explore opportunities in the entertainment industry. His career began with art direction for television serials such as Imtihan, Yule Love Stories, Chandrakanta, Juhi, and Kuchh Ret Kuchh Pani. His attention to detail quickly earned him recognition, leading to his collaboration with legendary filmmaker Mani Kaul on the film Naukar Ki Kameez in 1999.

Over the years, Raashid contlributed to a wide array of films, including historical epics, comtemporary dramas, and international productions. His work in Shaheed-e-Azam Bhagat Singh, Darna Zaruri Hai, Gayab, Waris Shah : Ishq Da Waris, Jai Ho Democracy, Punjab 1984, Love Punjab, Firangi, Bambukat, Angrej, Super Singh, Jodi, and Sucha Soorma earned him critical acclaim and established him as a master of art direction and production design. In addition to Indian films, he worked on English language projects such as The Life of Buddha, A Royal Massacre, Burden, Indian Wedding, Rock `n` Meera, and Black Prince.

In 2006, he received the prestigious National Award for Best Art Direction for Waris Shah : Ishq Da Waris, celebrated for its authentic recreation of a historic Mughal era in Punjabi. The same film also earned him the ArchiDesign Critics` Choice Award for Best Film Set Design in 2007. His contributions to Punjabi cinema were further honoured with the Virsa Award for Best Art Director by the Punjab Government in 2011. In 2017, Raashid won the Filmfare Award for Best Production Designer for his work on the historical drama Bambukat. Additionally, he wrote the scripts for the films Sajna Ve Sajna and Subedar Joginder Singh and served as the Creative Producer for the Nikka Jaildar series, and Subedar Joginger Singh demonstrating his storytelling prowess.

His Illustrious work resonates with audiences all over the world, making him a pioneer in the world of Art Direction and Production Design.
