Raymond Andrew Winstone is an English film and television actor. Winstone enrolled at the Corona Stage Academy in Hammersmith, where he bagged his first major role in the play What a Crazy World. He appeared in small roles in Fox (1980), The Fabulous Stains (1982) until his major breakthrough in Robin of Sherwood (1984). Winstone appeared in The Bill (1984-2010) and Fairly Secret Army (1984-1986). Theatre then caught his attention, with plays such as Hinkemann (1988), Some Voices (1994), and Pale Horse (1995). His film career blossomed after a BAFTA nomination for Nil by Mouth (1997). His other films include Love, Honour and Obey (2000), King Arthur (2004),
The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe (2005), Sweeney Todd (2006), The Departed (2006). He also appeared in blockbusters like Beowulf (2007), Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lighning Thief (2010), Rango (2011),
Snow White and the Huntsman (2012), and
Noah (2014) The Gunman (2016), Point Break (2016) and
Jawbone (2017).
