About
Regina Cassandra is an Indian actress who appears in Telugu, Tamil and Kannada films. She is best known for her lead role in the Tamil flick Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga (2013), the Telugu movie Shiva Manasulo Shruti (2012) and the Kannada action film Suryakaanti (2010).

Early Life
Regina was born on December 13th, 1988 in Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu in South India. Her mother is from Karnataka while her father hails from North India. She began her acting career by appearing on the children`s channel Splash at the young age of nine, followed by work in a number of small commercials.
Regina holds a degree in psychology and graduated from the Women`s Christian College, Chennai.

Personal Life
Regina belongs to the Christian faith, as a result of her Anglo Indian Grandmother and her Iyengar Grandfather who converted to Christianity after marriage. The actress has stated that she is a huge romantic but is currently single as her main focus is on her career.

Movie Career
Regina made her acting debut as a child artist with the Tamil romantic comedy Kanda Naal Mudhal (2005) directed by V. Priya. She was 14 at the time and played the character Latha, the pregnant sister of the protagonist Laila. The actress next appeared in a low-key Tamil film Azhagiya Asura (2005). Though the flick attracted positive critical response, it did not receive much attention and Regina decided to take a break from the big screen in order to pursue education. Her break was marked by appearances in various short films such as Kadahalil Sodhappuvadhu Yeppadi (2005) directed by Balaji Mohan.

In 2010, she was cast alongside actor Chetan in K.M Chaitanya`s Suryakaanti. The action thriller about an international assassin was a moderate box office success. Regina next starred in the Telugu romantic-comedy, Shiva Manashulo Shruti (2012). The film was a remake of Siva Manasula Sakthi (2009) and she also bagged her first award, the SIIMA Award for Best Female Debutant. This was followed by a role alongside actor Sundeep Kishan in the flick Routine Love Story (2012).

The year 2013 saw her appear in two Tamil films, the Pandiraj directed Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga (2013) and the drama Nirnayam (2013).

The following year, Regina`s focus returned to the Telugu industry and she was cast in the comedy Kotha Janta (2014). Directed by Maruthi, the movie was a box office hit and Regina received a positive response for her performance with the newspaper Deccan Chronicle, proclaiming her the `star of the film`.

The same year, Regina also appeared in the action-comedy Power (2014). The film became one of the biggest blockbusters of the year and was critically successful.

Cassandra`s next projects included the Telugu action-comedy Pilla Nuvvu Leni Jeevitam (2014), the thriller Rajathandhiram (2015) and Tantineni Satya`s Sankara (2016). Her 2017 release includes Gemini Ganeshanum Suruli Raajanum. In 2019 she appeared in the Telugu film Evaru. Her 2021 release includes Nenjam Marappathillai.

Television Career
Regina is primarily a film actress, but has been an anchor on the kid`s channel Splash.
